I rather tend to look more at the Blues and 2nd Liners nowadays, but my charts compelled me into taking up long positions on this counter. Well, as the story goes, I picked up a good few just for (in the words of Fun$) some kachang puteh play. William's%R is currently at 49.54, which means that this baby should continue trending North. For those who have taken up positions already, I would recommend a stop at 31.5c. I have not included any Candles for this as it is too glaring. My Chart will follow. |

I strongly believe that Noble is a great buy with great potential to ride the Asian recovery....the fact that they are currently aggressively buying back their own shares...check out the latest Company announcements...is telling. Those interested may also wish to register at their newly owned internet raw materials trading exchange at www.rawmart.com. Don't miss this gem. Mojo |

The Noble share buy-back trading has been at its most aggressive in the last two days of trading with the company buying more than 4,000,000 shares bringing the total to in excess of 8,000,000 shares. The company seems to be willing to buy up to 60 cts for now and has a mandate to buy back up to 24,000,000 shares. Noble was de-listed in Hong Kong and listed on the SES in 1997 at IPO price of US 88 cts. After it floated, its share price got absolutely clobbered as its business (raw materials) was severly affected by the recession. To its credit, the management made provisions of ariund 9 million for losses and for this reason, Noble posted a huge loss of 7 million plua in their last results. However, the following factors make me convinced this is a really undervalued stock with great potential. 1) Currently trading below its NTA of US 38 cts 2) Company buying back own shares 3) Has spent the recession period strengthening its balance sheet, making intelligent acquisitions, and restructuring its business to take into account new opportunities in the internet...check out www.rawmart.com 4) The management is impressive...Noble's balance sheet has grown from 3 million to about 100 million since 1991. 5) Current price in Sing $ is still a huge discount from its IPO price. 6) As Asia turns around, Noble will mirror the rise as its business of raw materials supply is the engine room of world economy. I've bought and am still buying. Any other takers? |

I am holding some noble shares but had stopped collecting. Nearly every trading day, one see share buy back by company of about 1 million shares.although company have another 12 million shares to buy if it chooses, I failed to understand why the price range bound between 57-60cts. Based on volume transated, most of it were bought by company. Why no interest in this counter , even though quite obvious that 1) economic recovery favours co.2) co.supporting price through buy back scheme3) management team can be considered strong.4) undervalue ???? |

Normally when a Co instructs a sercuity firm to help them buy back their own shares, they will set a target price, like buy 4m shares @ or below 0.60. Hence this forms an invisible upper ceiling on the share price. Once they have collected enough, they will push up this counter. So be patient with it. I believe once they let go of the block, it will fly vey fast and high. The counter broke out of a huge triangle formed since Aug 1999.Volume during breakout was impressive, hence breakout is confirm to be valid. The chart target is pointing at 0.90, wih resistance at 0.60, 0.63, 0.75. 2nd chart target is pointing at 1.09.However we need to see volume surge to > 12m a day to be sure that the 2nd chart target is valid. Hope it helps. |

Todd, since yesterday, the company has bought back 10 mil shares. They can buy back up to 24 mil shares. The share price has been hovering around the 60cts level since the buyback. Looking back at the charts, this was the highest level even at the height of the 99 July bull for penny stocks. This is not a well traded counter and I am not sure what will happen when they have completed the 10% buyback. |

Hi Oldman, thanks. Apparently, they are buying back these shares at a higher price. What's your opinion on this company. Looking at their recent activities, they seems to do all the right things such as going into internet, appoint Ang Mo as director, acquiring USA based company,... ps: One question, how many mails did you read in a day on the average? How did you managed to keep up with all the correspondence? |

Todd, I woke up at 5am to clear my email and when I got back at about 4pm, there were another 200 waiting for me. In a day, I clear through about 400 to 500 emails. Nevertheless, I find that this is a good way of feeling the pulse of the market. Actually, I remember looking at this company once and I too like the fundamentals. However, it has been a while since I looked at this company. What I am concerned about is that this company is poorly traded and by buying back 10%, this ain't going to make matters better. I remembered once I bought into Goodwood Park and spent the next 3 months looking for a buyer! From that time onwards, stock liquidity is an important factor even before I look into the company. This is especially true when the bear comes around. |

Hi Todd & Oldman. I have been accumulating Noble as I believe its a great buy at current price. Today's close of 63 cents is a significant trend upwards as stock has been hovering from 57 - 60 cts for some time. However, I must point out Oldman that the July 99 high was 60 US cents whilst the share is now trading in the local currency. One to watch. |

Interested investors should check out the latest article in the news section of www.thisisnoble.com on their internet commodities trading business to be launched in July. It was also mentioned in the article that the boss Richard Elman commented that Dec and Jan was one of the busiest months Noble has seen in the last few years. Their plans for their internet site seem to have great vision, a one stop web site to trade commodities where you can arrange insurance and financing and transport at the click of the mouse....is this what is meant by business to business e-commerce...hmmm. Another interesting issue is that a check on the number of issued shares of Noble revealed that there are 240,000,000 shares in issue. Of this, the share buyback todate shows Noble holding approx 234,000,000. Does this mean there are only 6,000,000 shares out in the market....if so, can anyone help shed light on what is the minimum number of shares that must remain in the public float? I'm a bit confused here as the company still has authority to buy back more shares...is it possible that they buy back everything? Would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.....Thanks. |

Mojo, when a company buys back its shares, it cancels the shares that it has purchased. In the announcement yesterday, the company said that it has purchased back 623,000 shares and as a result, these number of shares were then removed from the total number of issued shares which is now stated as 229,088,000. I do not have the prospectus to know how many of these shares are owned by the the substantial shareholder. Previously this was stated that Nobel Temple Trading owns 45.73%. Now with the sharebuyback, this % will be increased slightly. |

Starlet, I made a mistake. I have not been following this share and did not realise that it is now quoted in Singapore dollars. Thanks to Mojo for highlighting this mistake to me. At today's price of 60cts, this is equivalent to US 36cts, which is about the same price at around August 1999. It has been hovering around US 30cts for a good part of last year. It's high was US 63cts in the heydays of the penny shares last year. It's low most of 1999 was around US 12cts. Anyone with TA or FA advice on this share? |

Price has not dropped much due to share buyback. It has bought back abt 5% of its share and can buy back another 5%. Will the price support stay after the share buy-back stops...? Seems like its similar to SIA case where the price was supported at $15.90 for a long while. However, I believe its to shareholder's benefit to let the price fall and buy back at a much lower price. Its wasting of the shareholders funds. Vested interest. |

It seems that after so much sharebuybacks for Noble, they do still have money to acquire. Must take a look what is their cash reserve. This counter suddenly looks interesting, as least to me. |

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE as Brand-building and Marketing Partner (Hong Kong; 24th May 2000) Hong Kong's leading one to one marketing agency, OgilvyOne, has announced that it has been retained by RawMart.com to launch and promote the company's new electronic business hub that will link buyers and sellers of more than 500 types of raw materials and commodities. The deal comes at an exciting time for both companies as traditional businesses are quickly shifting to the world of e-commerce. "We are delighted that RawMart has chosen us to build their brand," said Chris Riley, general manager of OgilvyOne. "This is a unique business-to-business site that will bring together buyers, sellers, producers and consumers of raw materials and commodities from all over the world together in one market place." He added that RawMart would be able to draw on the success of its parent -The Noble Group - to develop a strong and clearly focused brand image. "Developing a strong brand image is a critical starting point in the electronic age. Otherwise you simply can't succeed." Michael Mudd, commercial director of Noble's Internet Services division, said the reason for selecting OgilvyOne was its proven global brand expertise in technology and commerce building. "We have an ambitious three-phase development programme," he explained. "First we plan to launch the hub in July, then we plan to move into online trading by the end of the year and in the final phase we plan to become a full cycle services provider. OgilvyOne is going to be a key partner in helping us achieve that goal by developing a clear branding strategy that will lead to a range of communications from advertising, interactive, direct mail through to data and telemarketing services to help manage customer relationships." RawMart.com will enable B-to-B transactions in a wide range of industrial and agricultural materials, from iron to aluminium, cocoa to fertilizers and from coal to refined oil products. With this new facility, buying and selling raw materials will be conducted in a one-stop location, making international raw materials trading more effective and convenient than ever before. The site will offer multi-language capabilities; initially in English, Chinese and Russian and, by the end of 2000, it will offer Japanese, Korean and Spanish languages. "RawMart will be extremely rich in content even in the initial phase," added Mr. Mudd. "There will be news updates for registered users every three minutes and personalized content relevant to each user's area of interest, all of which will be free of charge once users register."
