yep, i have been looking forward to this IPO cos what i heard is that this company has good prospects.

dealing with such an highly resourcful equipment in such a times will bring benefits to the company especially when we have talks focusing on security welfare

that means this company products will really sell all over the world.

wow, another ipo again. tody TR NETWORK opened very strong so those successful IPO appliants laughing all the way to the bank. but not tech stock, so may be not so hot.

so is MULTIVISION consider tech stock ? don't look like i think. now the whole world is so afraid of terrorists and talking about enhancing security measures and systems, this IPO come at the right time. any comparable companies listed in sing or other markets or not ? can any one name some names to share ?

when will launch ? how many shares ? can make $ or not ? like TR Network ?

real or not ? i see the preliminary prospectus, the results for first 4 mths up to july 2002 is a net profit of HK$6.56m, almost 6x that of the whole of last fy. if just extrapolate, fy2002 should make 15x of whole of last fy, ie hk$15m. too good to be true but if it is true, this means the stock must apply.

GOOD START for TR network so like i said the rest will follow thru'.....even if you sell at closing its still in the money that what we called a successful launched!

yes i think likewise too kakimoto, now that pple are talking abt terrorists this product does sells cos like what u said enhancing security! and its abt video and surveilliance systems so sure sell one!

it will be best sold in tight and sensitive areas or even in the shopping malls when they upgrade! So u see it has already a line of end-users ready to make it useful!

will look out and inform you if i get any details!

from the forum you guys seems very supportive of this MV. why? cos its into close scrutiny of surroundings is it? So based on this you guys think the products can sell??

US seems to be on a recovery mode, with all the data better than expected, it prove to be that all these IPO just had the right timing, looking at last night DJ n Nasdaq....today another run for mkt.

i think this stock will generate much interest from companies as well as investors- maybe a short term to middle term play. And based on its product it will sell.

Nilaichai,

I have read briefly abt them in masnet and read something like ATMs which is supplied by NCR worldwide. So i think spore ATMs are supplied by NCR so indirectly there is usage here.

from what i know their main biz lies with commercials and govt applications.

I download from opera and read the prelim prospectus, they are doing security cameras? It they are in US, think will be good as the security awareness in US is high, but in China will that be ok???
Any comments???

.... read the link below:

Only someone completely distrustful of all government would be opposed to what we are doing with surveillance cameras.
-- NYC Police Commissioner Howard Safir, 27 July 1999.
the Surveillance Camera Players:
completely distrustful of all government.

and this:

"Before September 11th, I think people would be very offended to think that they could be tracked in a theme park," said Feng Chi Wang, president of MetaSignal Inc. "People are more giving now in terms of their civil liberties." -- Associated Press, 16 November 2001.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin, 1759 Historical Review of Pennsylvania.

It has been widely noted that both "the American intelligence community" (approximately 15 different agencies) and the various military and civilian agencies in charge of fighting terrorism (at least 40 of them) utterly failed to anticipate, prevent or minimize the severity of the devastating terrorist attacks on civilian and military targets in New York City and Washington, D.C., on 11 September 2001, despite the facts that every year the United States spends approximately $30 billion on intelligence-gathering and analysis, and another $11 billion on counter-terrorism.

whether in US or in China i think the use of security surevillance systems has its advantages.

in terms of commericals, their products are used in homes to monitor the elderly and young and sometimes on the newly employed maid! all for safety reasons.

in the tight security dept. like they use CCTV in the HK customs and excise and airport as such.....may prove sometimes to be useful!

My broker attended the roadshow and told me Multivision only deal with big infrastructure contracts e.g. Hong Kong Chep Lak Kok Airport surveillance was designed and installed by them

they also supply to residential like using in the homes to track movements of the loved ones at home.

believe that many wld have seen the advertisment which a son's mother fake a faint that was captured by her son's cam in office in order to have him back for a dinner!!

i think their products is something like that.

as terrier too has said that they supply to NCR for ATM.

but if deal with big infrastructure has its advantages right cos more revenue and turnover! this benefits the company and can make more money and then we too can make money.

I think MV selling point not only provide the security it also provide cost saving to whoever using their system. I was told that surveillance system they use is in digital form intead of analog. my broker told me that during the roadshow, the company mentioned that they can compress all the data received to a disk (equal to many vedio types n centralised the surveillance centre)instead of vedio type. This will translet to a big saving in costs. imanging, if macau casions which their talking to finally agree to use MV system, that will represent a big contract to MV and great saving for all the casinos in macau. Prospect look good as more users will use MV products for costs saving and get better result.

Maybe SMRT and LRT should use MV system, so tt the Bishen MRT incident will solve immediately and the constand breakdown of Bukit Panjang LRT system and track according. Hey good contracts for MV.

i find that the surveillance cameras installed will give the public a breathing space as the terror attacks are coming too close for comfort

bali bombing, foiled planned attack in singapore, all this instill a fear in us. just imagine if we have security cameras everywhere and can capture images so clear and concise, we can at least know that we are being looked after.

i do not want to wake up one day and find myself in the middle of a bombing incident right in our city.

god bless us for our safety.

guess epic is their competitor for the home market while cisco and other big firms dealing in commercial security would be their competitor in this sector.

this company comes from hongkong so we are not so sure abt their activities in singapore and should be known once the mas approves their listing.

guess this is called the calm before the storm(eh i mean boom)

hello hello, it is me again....so pple out there going to bomb me again???? this time use REAL bomb hor....then, biz for Multivision will go up and up!!! hahahaha!!! if really like that hor, more bombing more biz for them lah!?!?!

ok, again, i did my homework and read the prospectus on the mas website.....their biz is not on retail biz lah! if i understand correctly, they got 3 biz namely the netserver, netcorder diy and unet client workstation which the called it ncw......

the lowest turnover is that netcorder diy which i think is comparable to the epic....if so, that epic is not their competitor......epic like can act as the Qu Mei Feng thing leh....

actually, this biz quite interesting leh.......surveillance system....what a time to list when the whole world is so concerned abt security....must say, it is a very interesting stock. any body dont agree and want to wack me????

okie lah, that all first.....nowadays, prospectus ALL so thick.....so much to read.....like investors really interested to read so much....dont know why they have to write so long......

not too worry that pple will whack u lah.... this is a forum we are open to our views right??

as long as we dont insult anyone it ok lah.

wld expect this company to be attracting many pple cos the theme of the MV is on security so at this point of time its very impt and their timing is perfecto!

has been used in many places of high security....shows that they have already est. themselves in these area.

if all those using analog now changes to digital.........then can u imagine the big biz orders that they will get??

wha a lot of money to be earned.

and they are talking abt expansion into the PRC and North America and Europe. this if were to go far i cannot imagine how much they can increase in their revenue

shabi, you are right. technology is getting more and more sophicated these days and if you are not careful, it would be obsolete in 3 months. what a way to go.

just yesterday, it used to be the rage for just analog but today it is digital. wonder what would come next? but before that, i guess someone is going to make a lot of money.

i wish i have the brains to invent some new technology and then sell it to someone who would be interested and then retire.

usually 2 weeks after preliminary prospectus is lodged, the co can start the IPO launch. Multivision lodged the prelim prospectus on 12/11, so can expect it to start launch around next week.

according to road side sources, they say this stock has captured the attention of many institutional investors, especially those based in HK. some big names ang moh funds want to have big chuck of the IPO but was turned down because singapore IPO must follow the rules. it was said that nobody want another Dayen to happen. so even no matter how much some of these fund managers love the stock, one can have only some shares. may be better this way, at least we know the share price would be able to hold above IPO price after trading starts. so don't miss the boat.
