BT reported today that the company is "seeking mandates from its shareholders to buy back its shares and to undertake interested person transactions"

The share closed at US$0.225 yesterday and currently trading at US$0.24, so is this a good buy?

1996 : Public offer 95 mln shares of HK$0.50 each at US$0.37 each.

Good business to be in though at 56cts, I feel that it is fully valued. But like any penny stock at the moment, valuation is not so important anymore !

WahShing - Jonel, your Q is my command :-)
wahshing
1. To simplify, RED = Resist line / BLUE = Support.
2. 30/50days ma stabled, while 9/18days wma attempted to make a surpass above the both former (causing all cramping together).
3. ROC(33days) started to rise back on the +ve edge.

Base on the flattened 50days ma, upside (if there is) would be restricted about US$0.495
Nevertheless, downside wise, there should be strong support in the region between US$0.34 - US$0.36

Perhaps if u wish, remind me again 1-2 wks later as can't observe more confirmation from my simple TA chart.
(but I believe, even if a sudden surge do occurs, there is a high chance it will make a pullback, and that is when u need to remind me).

Volume in first 40 minutes of trading already over 1200+. Definitely someone is playing this. Look at the huge Buy volume.

Charts trends don't indicate much. 10 day RSI is nowhere but moving upwards, MA gives no clues either. Worth speculating if you can take risk. I am going in.

Went in for the first deal in the morning @0.335. Lost 2 cents so far. Not sure whether to hang on as there are mixed signals. 2 cents is acceptable drop when STI is down by >40pts. Volume is still high (4000+ at 1600), buy volume is still greater than sell volume. This imply that some big player is still buying (and laughing cos he is getting deals at low price).

However, the volume, while still high, is lower than yesterday (7000+). End of buying by Player? Also, not sure how long down spell will last with DOW uncertain. Holding positions over the weekend is also risky. I think there is 50-50 risk. May average down my buying cost if it falls to .305. Afterall, the share had a previous high at .60 in Aug/Sep...., but it also had a previous low at .06 in Jan.

Very difficult to call this. Anyone can help? Oldman, Fun$, Hkinvestor? Thanks

Dear people holding this stock,
How do you see this moving for the next month? I see strong support at 0.260 - 0.290. The share has been thus range bound (0.260 - 0.280) in the last week. Time to average down when it gets to 0.260 again? Or is it going up anytime?

How? Siao & people who have got this stock. Care to share opinions?

Wah Sing Volume Surge today! Now 5th spot on the volume list. (5000+ from a daily average of about 700+). I think Disney in HK news have given it a boost, since it is the main Toy maker in HK and China.

Already up by 3 cents (10%). I have good feeling about this stock!! ; )

(PS: I have 3 lots at 0.33).

Another Crazy stock in a crazy day. Together with Parkway and TIB Wrt, this is another stock that I would struggle to explain.

Volume today is a staggerring 140000+, reaching top 5 spot in volume!!! Compared with daily average of 700-800+ this represents a increase in trade of 20,000%!!!!! Yet, with all the volume, it rose only 0.005 to 0.32.

Could this be due to Disney deal in HK? Afterall, WS is a toy maker in Southern China. Disney Deal could benefit their Factories.

Or is there something I don't know about?

Huge volume increase due to retail or organised money? I have no idea what is the market Float for this... someone enlighten me?

This is puzzling. Was going to let go my 3 lots at 0.335, but withdrew when I noted the volume. Was I wrong to do that?

Crazy stock lah...

I think it was more a play with US denominated stocks. The fact that these command lower brokerage means better profits for the syndicates. I guess Roly and Wah Shing were further singled out because of the possible benefits from Disneyland. Shows that a lot of volume in our market is still driven by speculation....

Oldman,

You are as observant as ever. The top 5 volume stocks today are all USD stocks.

If this is really syndicate play, they should be trying to push price up. WS was as low as 0.285 just last week. Percentage wise, it has gone up ahead of the STI. Will the action end tommorow?

We shall see tommorow how it goes.

It may be useful to note that the major shrholder, SCI has been selling their shares since the counter went ex-bonus. They have sold about 6.1 million the last sale being reported on 22 Oct 99.

My guess is that they are disposing their bonus shares in the open market to provide more liquidity. At the latest reported figure, they are still holding 74.11% .

I have been watching this counter for some time now and it appears that someone is pushing the price up to sell.

Overall , this counter is fundamentally a good stock. For the first half of this year , its eps is 16 HK cts. Second half is expected to be better due to the opening of a new factory which is expected to expand capacity by 20% and seasonal demand. At the current price, this stock would be trading at a PE of about 10x. Wah Shing also pays very good dividend.

Together with stockists play and possible off loading by SCI may have prevented the stockists from pushing it up further. Invest in this stock with a medium term view.

Anyone with other views to add?

Btw , I am long on this stock.

Cheers!

This is one of fundamental good stocks. From its interim result whose profit jumped 300%, you could see how well this company runs. The company has strategicaly moved its manufacuring business into mainland China, where they can find cheap labour and low priced materials, the lower production cost will yield good profit margin. As new millenium and Chrismas season is around corner, the demanding of toys and gifts are dramatic increasing. We expect the result of second half should be much better than the first half. So you will foresee the year end result is how good, which should be annouced within two months time. Therefore, invest your money on this shares now as it is still cheap(US$0.30), you will get satisfied return when annoucement comes.

Wahshing is in talks with its parent company to acquire an ecommz company Tandem Holdings and its subsidiaries to sell direct in the US market. They will be making further announcements on its details later.

I believe this may just be the impetus for Wahshing to grow as its margins are thinning and costs increasing as reflected in its latest results. This company has shown itself to be well run and has a generous dividend payout policy.

Has vested interests.
