Frankly I don't quite believe all these reporting either by TV, radio or papers. Most of them knows half the story and make up the other half. Especially those from one major busines paper, I can still remember when the market started the current run, they used some funny theories to give caution after caution to their readers.
Only the one with the pan name ' silver' (in Chinese) who writes a short wirite-up daily in the Chinese Papers are relatively more accurate in his forecasts, but his time frame is definitely not days, more likely weeks. I heard this person is actually a forex dealer with an international bank. In fact among all that I have read, this poerson was the first to called for the inpending bull several weeks before the bull actually started. |

Mephisto 05 Jun 2003 12:34pm [ Premium User ] Posting #1696 Viewing #1694 of 1739 Stock Price : 11.900 [ Bookmark ] [ Reply ] Market is funny. When it is on the run and sentiment is good, everyone rushes in only to be trapped when sentiment turns suddenly. When sentiment is bad, everyone rushes out. That's why, the best time to buy is during crisis when sentiment is bad and the best time to sell is when sentiment is good. The only snack with this simple approach is that only less than 10% of the market players have the courage to buy during crisis and the patience to hold for optimism to return. This also explains why 90% of the players in the market lose money. |

Mephisto, I agree it is still uptrend... but can't calm myself when I see the price movement. How could price shoot up so fast and come down so fast, not like a normal day. Usually after the big guys did their clearance will follow by a long period of natural bleeding when no hands holding the market. |

Moneytree, minor pullback for those stocks I bought with good valuations hor. But for those runaway types (you all know which one), pullback cannot guarantee minor for those who bought at runaway prices hor. As I have said time and again, always watch the valuation. And even if market pulls back, no fear but happy instead because can buy more cheaper hor. |

This correction is certainly expected. When Bush left, some tears shed. It is in the story right from the beginning. However overall market is still intact and long term uptrend. |

wah, mep was missing in action this whole morning, you all should know oredi...not wake up with a shock until he came in at 4:14pm and laughed so heartedly. "Ha ha ha" (I told you to look for value.) What is the "ho ho ho" laughter by moneytree huh? cos he found pennies, then mid-cap, then big-cap were sold....moneytree, give a shout next time, ok!
believe this correction will be real; the big drop is yet to come since the banks have not been corrected. Be watchful huh, look for value as old-timers like mep will tell you and be nimble and alert if you are skillful as moneytree, mccool, wms...etc. etc.! |

There will be some market correction as normal. A major correction will only takes place if there is unforseen external factors.
Everyone is so use to the stocks going up that a bit of down instinctively interpret as doomsday coming. Everybody start forgetting the government's economic data, forecast and projections, the broking houses and FMs recommendations and predictions..etc. Are all their information "baseless" ?? No, our statisticians, FMs, FAs are world class and reputable and that is how our financial center is measured on. Having said that, it is important to commit within your means and do not go OB (no chance to par the hole). |
