Shares traded in Singapore and in New York are not interchangeable. You simply cannot sell your holdings in Singapore at NY and vice versa.

Pro i think u got my meaning wrongly. What i mean is selling the US share since if tomorrow STI falls tomorrow most likely the price of CHRT, CREAF and STTS will follow the spore price so ppl why dun sell tonite?????

Where's Ykayboon? He says this liquidity driven rally will last at most 2 quarters (since May). Coming to end of 2nd quarter. If this is really the turning point, I will start worshipping him as guru

Banks have started correction, they look so much cheaper now... ...but correction may continue next week until us finishes earnings reporting; when the market was bullish, anything could be acceptible, now any good earnings would be below expectations; so the selling will continue for a couple of more days.

IMHO, the corection can go as low as 1681/1682, i.e. 61.8% retracement from 1800 level; on its way, fill the gap at 1861/1887...

Anderton, I have this very bad habbit of observing the market. I do not play contra but can't help to enter at the best time and exit at the best time too resulting in doing contra lots of time. Atot I am holding on to the shares, can't help to have my mood goes up and down with the market momentum at times.

DJ MARKET TALK/SG: MS Cuts Singapore to Underweight

23/10/2003 12:01

[Dow Jones] Morgan Stanley cuts Singapore to Underweight from Overweight as economic growth fully priced in; market pricing in FY04 GDP growth of 6% vs unofficial government forecast of 3-5%. Also, Singapore most exposed to slowing U.S. money supply growth (slowing money supply could reduce liquidity for local market). "Thus with Singapore most exposed in the region to slowing US money growth... the prospect for a downside may be more meaningful than the growing number of optimists suspect." Cuts Singapore by exiting positions in DBS (D05) and UOB (U11). STI down 2% at 1735.99 on broad-based profit-taking. (ANU)

FEAR prompts .....jumping in again.

DJ MARKET TALK/SG: S'pore Credit Demand To Rise - DBS Chief

[Dow Jones] DBS chief executive officer Jackson Tai expects Singapore credit demand to improve as economy recovers, "all banks would see an increase in credit application and loan growth." DJ MARKET TALK/SG: STI Down 1.9%; Support Likely At 1728
23 October 2003, 12:46

[Dow Jones] STI down 1.9% at 1736.88 midday, as weak U.S./regional markets provide triggers for profit-taking, especially in blue chips; DBS (D05) down 4% at $14.5, CityDev (C09) down 3.9% at $6.1. But correction expected, says local fund manager, as "the market had added considerable weight" recently. Also, concerns over valuations reflected in MS downgrade of Singapore market to Underweight from Overweight; market already priced in economic recovery and vulnerable to tightening money supply in U.S. Volume at 839 million shares vs 1.2 billion midday yesterday; next support likely at 1728, recent intraday lows.
