As usual, their analysis always opposite of what market is thinking.
Dow Jones] Current market rally likely to continue with start of global cyclical recovery and huge sell-off of bonds in last 12-18 months, says Netresearch; U.S. and Japan economic rebound, three years of underinvestment for computers suggest start of combined economic and IT asset replacement cycle; will likely drive "sustained cyclical recovery in manufacturing around the world." |

So far no bad news right? So downward momentum is only temporary, engineered by some syndicates to short down and earn some money. They have a downside too.. if the US markets continue to go up, they will be scrambling over themselves to cover in the next few days |

Zombie, agree with you. But more craziness will drive price lower. Market always overcheong on both sidec- up also over cheong, down also over cheong. SO, I let it over cheong down a bit more before I scoop up my favourite stocks again. |

How can STI which was so bullish even up till last week become so bearish out of a sudden? No matter what we think, the fact remains that we are all at the mercy of ang mohs and therefore, we must always kow tow to them. when ang moh says pull out of SIngapore, all funds pull out. Now, wait for STI to drop back to below 1700 and for ang moh to say "selling overdone, overweight Singapore" and then we start piling in again. But always remember, be nimble and run when got profit before the ang mohs sneeze again. Hahahaha! |

This seems to be a concerted effort by some analyst to drive the price down and cause panic sell down to their benefit. I salute Gabriel Yap of Kim Eng for speaking up but, where are the other local analyst? Have they lost their voice or are awe in shock???
Speak up now to throw some light in these few days of darkness in trading. |

I mention about musical chair some time ago. Don't know if anyone get the story.
The reason why STI drops like hot knife through butter is because Singapore economy is still NOT on a solid recovery. If you read reports, jobless rate is still high...more people are getting bankrupt and there are only faint signs of recovery. AND big Ah Mo in America is fighting a terrible guerilla war in Iraq. The issue of soaring oil prices is still not resolved. America's news keeps reporting about an economy recovery because America is going to have Presidential election soon. Trade with care and don't let the big and the bad take away our hard earned money. |

Mephisto, yesterday I took profit on Looksmart after its recent plunge when MSFT decided not to renew its contract with the former. Rather good profit, did you enter into Seagate? For semiconductor counters any good dip would be a good buy knowing that TSMC is going to increase its output next quarter. |

Singapore Market -- STI - Daily S @ 1680/1640; R @ 1800/1820
The STI reversed from earlier gains to post a loss of 14pts at 1722 close. It traded to an intra day high of 1763 in the morning but dipped in the red by late afternoon. Turnover was heavy, with 1.75bln shares worth $1.26bln traded. At current level, the STI is in the middle of the upward trending channel formed since May when the rally started. It would take a strong uplift above the 1800 resistance for bulls to regain the bullish track. Downside risk in the short term to 1680 remains but overall uptrend expected to hold. |
