market is too volatile to predict up or down...1700 may or may not well supported...best is to wait...downside can be up to 1630...upside to 1801...only 1801 broken will you see a big rally...so much unknown now...but my bet is market will be down as US brokerage starts to downgrade STI...not a good sign...they are waiting to off float and the fact that US market have not really consolidated does not bode well for STI in the short term...so trade with conscious |

The market had flushed out the weak holders and based on the index closing convincingly above 1700, bullish trend is still intact.Generally market always plucked the weak holders and caught the contra players.Fear is man greatest weakness.Be cool and take it easy. |

When the market is like it is (that volatile) for the past few days, it is trying to figure out what is the big trend! Up/down. With the recovery today, I am not sure of the downtrend anymore! I wait and see. |

11 Nov 2003 09:20pm [ Jade User ] Posting #3867 Viewing #3867 of 4048 Index Value : 1698.95 [ Bookmark ] [ Reply ] Do not despair. Learn from your lessons. From the chart, at this point of time, most investors are at a loss at where the market is heading. But from what I see (others are welcome to share their views) from the chart, tomorrow STI needs to hold above 1700 which will depend on US market tonight and if on subsequent days it falls below 1700 (which means it does not constitute to a false break) it may trend down to 1600 where at this level it is considered to be a very strong support level. Remember at this point of time, technically the index is still above the 50days MA, the index for the past three weeks have failed to cross 1800 for the second time (the last time I would not consider it as it did not even hit 1800) and it is forming a cup shape. I am predicting that at this point of time (regardless of how STI will perform tomorrow) that it will probably trend sideways after tomorrow for a time frame of one month or less, before making its next decision to go up or down. I do not link the bear right now to STI yet at this point of time, technically and econically, they do not point to a bear yet and the result is still unknown. I am still looking for US market to hit 10,000 and 2000 respectively, and I am still curious how come they have not even hit the resistance level and they are going down??? So what do I do? Even weather has its four seasons, what goes up will come down and what goes down will come up, if your counters are fundamentally sound companies, have trust in your counters. And yes uncles and aunties or people who have big appetites, subsequently please do not chew more than you can eat. |

The question is whether the the market is a dead house cat or a dead lion (both being members of the cat family). However, whether it is going to behave according to the laws of gravity after this bounce is however not in question. |
