Just got this email info from friend:
November Almanac: November is the top S&P month (1.7%) and number three on the Dow (1.7%) since 1950. Since 1971 November ranks third for NASDAQ (1.9%) and fourth for both the Dow and S&P, averaging 1.4% each. Since 1989 November ranks second on the Dow with a 2.3% average gain and third for both the S&P (1.9%) and NASDAQ (2.5%). November begins the Best Six Months for the Dow and S&P, and the Best Eight Months for NASDAQ. Small caps come into favor during November. With the market already favoring smaller stocks they remain poised to continue to outpace the market. On the Monday before expiration day the Dow was down 7 of last 12. But options expiration day has seen the Dow rise 7 of last 12. The week before Thanksgiving Week, the S&P has been up 11 years in a row. As for trading the Thanksgiving Market, going long into weakness Tuesday or Wednesday before and staying through the following Monday has improved returns in recent years. The days before and after Thanksgiving Day, combined, have had only 9 losses in 51 years on the Dow. This almanac thing CHUN or NOT? Anyone follows? So far this week US markets are down for 2 days. Does it mean they are likely to reverse up for the next 3 days? |

Creative: Creative bounced from negative to positive territory yesterday. The stock had formed a lengthy base formation that is due to break out one way or the other. Given that other tech-related stocks have broken down, we think that Creative is likely to follow suit. Watch out for $17.50 as a break below this support level could see the stock head pretty drastically towards $15.00.
Datacraft: This is another stock that swung in and out of negative territory during the day. But its price chart shows that a clear downtrend is in place. The stock is displaying a tendency to move down easily, with some difficulty taking out prior highs. It appears risky to be long Datacraft at this juncture. Support is seen at US$0.97,which is the 50% retracement of the move from US$0.49-1.44. Chartered Semiconductor: Yesterday, we indicated that the stock could bounce off the prior low of $1.45 but upside would very likely be capped at $1.55. The stock had later bounced off $1.47 and rebounded to a high of $1.56. The stock is now expected to decline towards next support at $1.29. ST Assembly: We pointed out yesterday that ST Assembly could rebound towards $2.02-2.05. Stock had rebounded to a high of $2.07. The prior low of $1.92 is no longer seen as a support. Next support level is at $1.76. ~ iocbc ~ |

Hawkeye8, u sharp vision, last two weeks the BEARS were very fierce (overbgt conditions) so smart bulls have to retreat, otherwise sure kena mauled. Must give respect to the BEARS when they are in the heat.
But the BULLS, when the conditions are right (extremely oversold conditions), have to take control like now... that's why PBull is out for bargain hunting and counter-charge against the BEARS. |

Papabull, Charge on fiercely and trample the bears. I am looking for some bargains now that it is in oversold condition. But, hard to decide on the best counter as everything is so cheap now. Any recommendation?
Its like the great Robinson sales. Buy now or pay a higher premium later. Strangely, in stocks, everyone takes cover when its cheap and start buying when the price increase. Herd mentality. |

Hawkeye, go for high betas, which will run first when the bears are a spent force. After making money, then place in defensives with high dividends like Robinson, SGX etc to preserve capital.
Am adjourning for lunch-break... |
